All about the wood.

Postby wayno » 20 Jul 2010, 16:43

As most of you know I love to build a good arrow probably because it is made out of wood. I also am a keen photographer and look forward to posting along with fello outdoors people as yourselves on the site.
Most importantly I love my bows and arrows for they take me to where mother nature cares no more for concrete and steel.

I just bought my first curve... I really like those arrows mate. Would love to be able to craft something like that myself.

I'm totally envious of your workmanship on the arrows Wayno. My Lady being an avid photographer has been looking at your pictures here and we both agree that most if not all should make the covers of trad mags around the globe.

Truly Beautiful work indeed.

I splice the full length feather first. Then use a little chopper 5 inch high back bannana pattern and stamp it out. Then cutt 1/2 an inch of the back, then line them up before gluing.
Am doing half a dozen carbons to see what they look like in the quiver.
To good for hunting but may turn some heads at the club shoots Is all good fun.
